Bottom Drains for Ponds |

If the installation does not permit this drain to be gravity fed away from the pond, it can always be connected to the suction side of a pump. Even if you do not plan to install a filter system right away this plumbing line can be capped for eventual hookup. If you do not have drain plumbing, you can use the Aqua Art Retro-Drain.

Using "Super flex pipe" for the Aqua Art Retro-Drain will provide a faster final plumbing set time. It also aids in installing Aqua Art Retro-Drains with partially water filled ponds (with fish present) as gluing and pipe fitting under water can be very challenging. |

Mid Water Intake

This Mid water intake is intended for liner pond side wall mounting. Typically used on ponds in colder climates which are set up to operate throughout the year. The pond keeper switches (via control ball valves) from primarly bottom drain suction to these side wall intakes during the cold winter months . This allows for temperature stratifiction of the water column, providing bottom pond temperatures to remain relatively warmer. Can also be used on our fiberglass pond shells, all models.

| Air membrane pad
is an integral part of the drain dome. Air is fed through a 1"
pipe threaded port in the bottom of the drain. Air is fed through
the dome standpipe. All other aspects of the drain are similar
or the dame as the spin drain. Drain port is not a tangential
feed. Air pump not included. Suggested air pump 40 to 60 liters
